Now a Paonia, Colorado bed and breakfast, the Bross Hotel was first opened in 1906 by Deputy Sheriff W. T. Bross. At the time it was considered "the only really first-class hotel in the county" by local authorities. Just one block from Paonia's main street, the Bross Hotel has the charm of an old hotel and the amenities of a modern bed and breakfast inn. The Bross Hotel remains Delta County's premier hotel.
April is Blossom Month in the orchards. It’s a beautiful sight. In spring the ‘dobe hills turn green. The farmers are planting. The pastures are filled with new calves and lambs. And, the Bross Hotel’s gardens are bursting with blooms - tulips, ice plant, hyacinths, iris, peonies. The area is beautiful and there’s lots to do, too. Hiking and cycling are favorite activities. Participate in the Gears and Beers Festival the end of May. Check out the skill of those legendary sheep dogs on Mother’s Day weekend. Attend a concert at the Paradise Theater. Let Paonia’s outstanding chefs treat your palate to Italian, Greek, Mexican, or California cuisine. Or, just relax and enjoy the beauty of the area and the smell of spring in the air.
Yes, spring is a great time to be in Paonia. The price is right, too; winter rates are in effect until mid-May. And, summer rates will remain the same as they have been for the past two years.
See you soon!
