CELEBRATE THE FORK

Yes, come celebrate the creative folks of the valley on August 28th and 29th.  The party is being hosted by the North Fork Valley Creative Coalition at the Delta County Fairgrounds in Hotchkiss.

Start the celebration with dinner at Heritage Hall.  All the food and drinks will be locally produced and prepared by some of our finest culinary artists.  And, while you dine you'll be surrounded by the work of some of the leading artists of the North Fork.  Following dinner, dance to the sounds of The
Strolling Scones.  Seating is limited so make your reservation in advance for this event.

We’re celebrating the creative people in the North Fork Valley from the farmers, the craftsman, the artist, the potters, the sculptors, the authors and musicians with a two day event and we want you to join us.

The First Annual Art Fair and Concert will take place under the trees of the Fairgrounds on Saturday so bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy the sounds of the North Fork Flyers, the Scones and a variety of other local musicians.  Special guest stars are: Travis Mann, a former North Fork resident, with a Nashville All Star Band and Otis Taylor, a North Fork favorite.  Starting at 10 a.m. there will be a "free" performance of Choirs and Praise Bands of the North Fork Churches.

While you enjoy the music you can peruse and purchase products produced in the North Fork Valley.  Booths and tents will line the concert arena and showcase the wares of food producers, vintners, brewers, distillers, artists and crafts-persons.

Don't miss this day celebrating the creativity of the folk who call the North Fork Valley home.  For tickets to this event go to northforkcreative.org.

The Father's Day Gift Solution

Father's Day is just around the corner and you're probably having a difficult time deciding how to honor that special Dad of yours.  He doesn't need any more "stuff" and he's hard to shop for.  So -- what is the perfect gift?  Something he can share with his special lady?  Yes! Give him a gift certificate to the Bross Hotel B&B.  All you need to do is call Linda at 970-527-6776.  She'll sent
a gift certificate promptly.

As an extra treat you can throw in is a winemaker's dinner at Stone Cottage Cellars on Saturday, June 20th. It's an al fresco evening of dining by the wine cellar.  Chef Ron Jardon has prepared an exciting menu that pairs North Fork food with Stone Cottage's wines.  Winemaker Brent Helleckson will talk about the evening's food pairings and share winemaking details.  Book your reservations early by calling 970-527-3444.

Summer in the North Fork Valley

Summer will officially arrive in a few days and the North Fork Valley is ready to welcome you.  The valley is green and flowers are blooming.  The wineries are open for your tasting pleasure.  Farmers' markets have products made from last year's harvest and will have fresh fruit from local orchards in a week or two.

Like to cycle?  There's no better place than the roads in this area.  Folks come from Europe and Australia just to ride the curves and ups and downs of the Rockies.  Won't you and/or your bike club join them?  The Bross Hotel offers ten rooms with 16 individual beds that is just perfect for a tour group.  If you haven't already done so, now is the time to make your reservation.

Cycling isn't limited to the road.  Great mountain biking is available.  Our local bike club will be happy to point you to their favorite trails.

And, speaking of trails, there are lots of hiking trails.  Try climbing Mt. Lamborn.  Or, climbing into and out of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison.  There are impressive trials on the Grand Mesa, too.

The great outdoors awaits you and the North Fork Valley is in the center of it all.  So make the Bross Hotel B&B your headquarters as you explore all the activities the region affords.  Come for a mini-vacation; STAY FIVE NIGHTS AND YOUR FIFTH NIGHT IS FREE.
